Black Palm is a natural soft soap made by a women's co-operative in Ghana using Fair Trade ethics. They collect the windfall cocoa pod and palm husks from the ground, then boil them up, creating the base ingredient for this fabulous hand soap. Shea butter is then added for its moisturising properties.
This base is shipped to the UK where it is mixed with lemongrass, vetiver and citronella essential oils and filled into these lovely aluminium tubes.
It is traditionally used in Africa for washing wounds and soothing irritated skin. Black Palm soft soap is very mild and suitable for use on both face and body. It is a honey-like soft gel, similar in consistency to an ointment. It does not contain any detergents or synthetic additives and is naturally 100% pure. It can be used as a travel wash, with citronella essential oil and may help ward off mosquitoes.
A little goes a long way and may be rubbed in without water, although has a more fragrant smell if you do use water. So enjoy this gorgeous unique Fair Trade product with all the warmth and essence of Africa.
